About

The Harlem Local Vendor Program (HLVP) is a supplier diversity and business accelerator program created by Nikoa Evans, BNP Advisory Group , and produced in collaboration with Whole Foods Market, Columbia Business School and Harlem Park to Park. The program is designed to help Harlem businesses producing locally made items succeed in the retail marketplace.

Program partners create opportunities for local vendors to scale up and compete for contractual relationships with purchasing partners. Collectively, program partners provide:

  • Manufacturing space

  • Marketing support

  • Networking

  • Business education

  • Financing assistance

  • Technical assistance

  • Promotion via Shop Harlem Made

The Harlem Local Vendor Program has been successfully helping Harlem businesses grow their businesses since 2015.

OUR MISSION

Harlem is full of passionate entrepreneurs making unique, high-quality products. With the right support, these business owners are able to partner with retailers, local enterprises, and large organizations. These partnerships increase awareness of these amazing products and drive economic growth for the community.

That’s the vision that sparked a collaboration between local institutions. Inspired by heritage and a love of Harlem’s community and culture, these institutions joined forces to create the HLVP.
